The city of Udaipur in Rajasthan has been experiencing continuous rainfall for the past six days, resulting in substantial precipitation in surrounding catchment areas. This has caused all the dams near Udaipur to overflow, transforming them into popular picnic destinations. The overflowing dams, like the TD Dam near Udaipur, the Shivalika Dam near the Udaipur-Pindwara highway, and the Bagri Naka in Rajsamand, have become prime spots for weekend picnics, drawing large crowds seeking respite from the city. The pleasant weather, coupled with the scenic beauty of the overflowing dams, has made these locations particularly appealing. The weather in Udaipur has been characterized by a cool breeze, with a recorded 4.5 mm of rainfall from 8 AM to 8 PM. The day’s temperature reached 26.3 degrees Celsius, while the night temperature rose to 20.4 degrees Celsius. Similar trends were observed in the nearby town of Dabok, with a slight increase in temperature. Meteorologists attribute the heavy rainfall to a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal, which is now moving towards Gujarat. This system is expected to gradually decrease rainfall in Udaipur from Friday onwards. However, the monsoon system is predicted to reactivate on September 3rd, promising further rainfall in the Udaipur division.
