More than 271,000 candidates, nearly 28% of those scheduled to take the exam, skipped the Uttar Pradesh Police Constable recruitment examination on its fourth day. The exam, held across 1,174 centers in 67 districts, was conducted under tight security measures, including biometric verification. However, 94 suspicious candidates were flagged for scrutiny, with their credentials being crosschecked. While the exam was allowed to proceed, legal action will be taken if their details prove to be false. The exam, which was rescheduled after a question paper leak in February, saw arrests of 13 individuals for impersonation, using unfair means, or manipulating identity documents. This brings the total number of arrests for exam-related irregularities to 39, with 34 cases filed in the past three days.
