The Osun Masterminds, a civil society group, has publicly accused the Osun State House of Assembly of ignoring petitions demanding accountability. The group, led by Prof Wasiu Oyedokun-Alli, criticized the legislature’s lack of response to multiple petitions submitted by various organizations. They expressed concerns about the assembly’s commitment to transparency and responsiveness, asserting that neglecting citizen petitions undermines public trust and accountability. The assembly’s spokesperson, Olamide Tiamiyu, countered the accusations, stating that genuine requests and petitions are addressed. However, he asserted that the assembly will not be swayed by politically motivated petitions designed to create controversy. Tiamiyu also pointed out inconsistencies in the filing of certain petitions, suggesting they were intended to embarrass the assembly rather than seek genuine information.
