The Nürburgring 1927 GmbH & Co. KG has announced a deal with the VLN (Veranstaltergemeinschaft Langstrecke Nürburgring) for the 2025 Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS). The agreement ensures a nine-race season, with the exact dates to be revealed next week. The VLN had to provide a security deposit of between €1.1 million and €1.2 million as an advance payment for the 2025 season. This deposit served as a safeguard for the Nürburgring owner, NR Holding, following concerns about the VLN’s financial stability in the past. The deal signifies the return of a traditional NLS season after 2024’s compromise schedule, which saw the NLS and the rival Nürburgring Endurance Series (NES) sharing dates. The NES now faces even greater uncertainty after its struggles to compete with the NLS. The NES had to cancel two planned races and ultimately scrapped its entire 2024 schedule. The agreement marks a resolution to the nearly two-year power struggle between the VLN and the Nürburgring. The VLN faced challenges in 2023 when it lost access to the track but subsequently won the right to race at the Nürburgring through legal action.
