The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has called for a nationwide solidarity march today in support of its president, Comrade Joe Ajaero, who is facing interrogation by the Nigeria Police Force. Ajaero was summoned by the police on allegations of criminal conspiracy, terrorism financing, treasonable felony, subversion, and cybercrime. In the nation’s capital, Abuja, members of the NLC Central Working Committee (CWC) and other affiliates will gather at the NLC National Headquarters to accompany Ajaero to the interview venue. NLC members in state capitals are also instructed to assemble at their respective state secretariats and embark on peaceful processions to their State Police Headquarters. The NLC has warned that if Ajaero is detained, all workers nationwide will begin an indefinite strike.
