Communities in Kaduna and Niger states have appealed to President Bola Tinubu for urgent intervention in the kidnapping of two District Heads, Sani Shekarau and Abdullahi Usman. The two leaders have been held captive by a terrorist group for four months, with the kidnappers demanding over N100 million and motorcycles in ransom. Despite paying a significant amount, the kidnappers continue to hold the district heads, who are reportedly in poor health due to torture. The communities, through the Birnin-Gwari-Niger Inter-boundary Community Union for Peace and Development, pleaded with Tinubu to mobilize security forces to rescue the district heads and restore peace to their communities. The families of the District Heads have endured immense suffering during this ordeal.
