The Nigerian government has unveiled a new electricity policy aimed at tackling the country’s power challenges and ushering in a more sustainable and inclusive energy future. The National Integrated Electricity Policy and Strategic Implementation Plan (NIEP-SIP) aims to address issues across the entire electricity value chain, from generation to distribution, including off-grid solutions. The policy was developed through extensive consultations with industry experts, stakeholders, and development partners. It is expected to guide the power sector towards a more robust and efficient future, ensuring reliable electricity access for all Nigerians.
