Egypt’s government has announced new measures for the acquisition of disability vehicles, aiming to ensure these vehicles are used by those who are truly eligible. The new procedures involve rigorous checks to prevent misuse. To apply, individuals must first register for a medical examination through a specialized medical council website. The website requires detailed personal information, including national ID, disability type, and contact information. Applicants must also obtain a comprehensive services card from the Ministry of Social Solidarity. The application process involves providing accurate information about the disability, choosing a medical examination location, and selecting the desired customs office for receiving the vehicle. To be eligible, applicants must be at least 18 years old, Egyptian citizens, and the vehicle must be registered in their name. The engine capacity cannot exceed 1600 cc, and the vehicle must meet specific safety regulations. Individuals must pass a medical assessment to demonstrate their ability to drive safely. Additional requirements include a social report from the Ministry of Social Affairs and a report from the Higher Council on Disabilities detailing the nature and extent of disability.
