The Netherlands has granted Ukraine permission to use Dutch-supplied F-16 fighter jets within Russian airspace, Dutch Armed Forces Commander Onno Eichelsheim announced. Eichelsheim emphasized that there are ‘no restrictions on the use or range of the F-16s.’ He further stated that Ukraine is free to utilize the resources provided ‘as long as they comply with the laws of war.’ The Dutch government has pledged 24 F-16s to Ukraine, though the exact number delivered remains undisclosed. Russia has responded to the F-16 transfer with strong condemnation, asserting that the move will not alter the course of the war and vowing to target any shipments containing weaponry for Ukraine.
