Egyptian media personality Mustafa Bakri has accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of seeking to prolong the war in Gaza out of fear of imprisonment for war crimes. Bakri, speaking on his program ‘Facts and Secrets’ aired on Sada El Balad TV, asserted that Netanyahu’s demand for a cabinet meeting in the Philadelphi corridor demonstrates a reckless disregard for Egyptian security and borders. He further stated that Netanyahu’s request for Israeli troops to remain in the area and oversee security in Gaza is a blatant violation of Egyptian sovereignty. Bakri emphasized that Egypt has been transparent in its commitment to preventing the smuggling of weapons through tunnels into Gaza and that Netanyahu’s accusations are false. He concluded by stating that Egypt’s borders are a red line that cannot be crossed.
