Nepal’s Supreme Court has revoked an interim order that prevented the implementation of a new 30-year service period for Nepali police officers. The court, presided over by Justices Sharanga Subedi and Binod Sharma, ruled in favor of the government’s request to vacate the previous order. The initial interim order, issued on August 6th, had been granted in response to a petition filed by 21 police officers, led by Senior Superintendent of Police Jivan Kumar Shrestha, who challenged the new 30-year service requirement. The government, represented by Home Ministry Secretary Ekanarayan Aryal, had filed a petition to overturn the interim order, arguing against its implementation.
