Mother Pleads Guilty to Manslaughter in Daughter’s Tragic Death

Jaskirat Kaur, the mother of 10-year-old Shay Kang, has pleaded guilty to manslaughter by diminished responsibility in the death of her daughter. Shay was found dead in her home in Rowley Regis, West Midlands, on March 4th. The young girl died from stab wounds to the chest. Kaur initially denied murdering her daughter, but ultimately accepted a plea bargain for the lesser charge of manslaughter. The court accepted Kaur’s plea, and she is now awaiting sentencing in October. Shay’s school described her as a bright and beloved child.
