The Montenegrin Network for the Affirmation of the Non-Governmental Sector (MANS) has accused the ‘Europe Now’ movement (PES) and President Jakov Milatovic of continuing to misuse state resources. MANS claims that the new leadership of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (ASK) has a chance to prove its integrity and impartiality in this instance. The accusations stem from PES’s recent announcement on social media that the state-owned ‘Putevi’ company would offer free public transport in September, as well as President Milatovic’s visit to Podgorica firefighters alongside the head of the ‘For a Better Podgorica – Jakov Milatovic’ list, Luka Rakcevic. The Podgorica elections are scheduled for September 29th. MANS asserts that these examples demonstrate a continued disregard for recommendations by the OSCE/ODIHR mission regarding the abuse of institutional advantages and campaigning during elections. The organization calls for immediate action from ASK, emphasizing that this situation presents a prime opportunity to showcase its integrity and unbiased approach.
