The family of late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad, has accused the Lagos State Police Command of mishandling the investigation into his death and has petitioned the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and the Police Service Commission to intervene. The family’s legal team, led by Taiwo Odumosu, alleges that the police failed to properly secure the crime scene, mishandled evidence, and ignored key testimonies, raising concerns about a possible cover-up. The family has demanded the replacement of the current investigative team with experienced officers from the force headquarters to conduct a comprehensive and unbiased investigation. The family also alleges that the police ignored the presence of a lawyer at Mohbad’s residence at the time of his death, raising questions about the circumstances surrounding the incident. The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, stated that they await the IGP’s position on the petition before taking any further action.
