Mexico’s Secretary of Economic Development (SEDECO), Claudio Méndez, has emphasized that there will be no turning back on labor formalization efforts in the country. He highlighted the government’s success in formalizing 18% more workers across various sectors since the current administration took office. Méndez reported that over 470,000 workers have been formalized, with a target of exceeding 500,000. He asserted that formalization and workers’ rights are not negotiable, reiterating that this is a priority directive from the Secretary of Economy, Marcelo Ebrard.
