The Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Attention to Women Victims of Crime Due to Gender and Family Reasons (FEM) in Mexico has reported 519 cases of missing women and girls this year. Of these, 479 have been located, leaving 40 cases still under investigation. The FEM director, Wendy Paola Chávez Villanueva, stated that most of the located women were adolescents who had run away from home due to family issues. These cases are referred to relevant institutions for support.
