Mexico’s Ángel de Jesús Camacho has continued the country’s strong performance at the Paris Paralympics, winning a bronze medal in the 100-meter freestyle S4 race. This follows the silver medal won by Rosa María Guerrero in the 100-meter backstroke. Camacho, a 19-year-old para-athlete, secured his place on the podium, achieving his second Paralympic medal after his bronze in Tokyo 2020. He faced strong competition from athletes representing Italy, Canada, and Japan, with the Japanese athlete also taking home a medal. Camacho, who hails from León, Mexico, narrowly missed out on silver, finishing just 2.07 seconds behind the gold medal winner, Ami Omer Dadaon of Israel. He expressed his joy and satisfaction with the achievement, highlighting the hard work that led to this victory. Mexico’s success in swimming, both at the Olympics and Paralympics, demonstrates the country’s dedication to the sport. With this bronze medal, Camacho has contributed to Mexico’s growing medal haul at the Paris Games.
