Mexican authorities have initiated criminal proceedings against Ramón M. M., who is accused of intentional homicide. The District Attorney’s Office of the Southern Zone presented evidence and incriminating arguments leading a Control Judge to order the suspect’s detention. The prosecution alleges that on December 25, 2012, Ramón M. M. went to the residence of Manuel Jaime D.V. in Mesa de San José, Guadalupe y Calvo, and shot him with a firearm, resulting in his death. Ramón M. M. evaded justice until August 24 of this year when he was apprehended in Chihuahua City and placed at the disposal of the Control Judge. The judicial authority has imposed a preventive detention measure while the investigation continues for a period of two months. According to the prevailing laws and regulations, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court verdict.
