Portuguese authorities have dismantled a large-scale drug laboratory in Santa Maria da Feira, seizing 15 kilograms of cocaine and arresting three suspects. The lab, operating in a secluded warehouse, was capable of producing 5 to 10 kilograms of cocaine daily. The suspects, two foreigners and a Portuguese national, are being investigated for drug trafficking, organized crime, and money laundering. Authorities found a substantial amount of chemicals, including benzine and acids, along with precursors and materials for cocaine production. The operation involved experts from the Northern District’s Forensic Science Laboratory, with support from the National Republican Guard. This bust highlights the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in Portugal.
