Man Arrested in Fatal Hit-and-Run in Évora

A 58-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run incident in Évora, Portugal. The incident occurred on Tuesday night when an elderly woman was struck by a car on the Estrada da Chainha road. The driver fled the scene, leaving the victim with serious injuries. Despite being transported to the hospital, the woman succumbed to her injuries. Police investigations, aided by eyewitness descriptions of the vehicle, led them to identify the suspect. He turned himself in to authorities and was subsequently released pending further investigation. The vehicle involved in the accident has been seized for further analysis.
