During the 74th session of the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Committee in Congo Brazzaville, Malian Minister of Health and Social Development, Colonel Assa Badiallo Toure, met with various health partners, including representatives from the Roll Back Malaria (RBM) Partnership. Her intervention during the session was met with great interest from the Regional Committee. Toure’s discussions with Dr. Michaels AdekunleCharles, head of the RBM team, focused on comprehensive malaria treatment strategies. RBM pledged its support to Mali in upcoming malaria indicator surveys and advocated for mobilizing financial partners to address funding gaps for the Global Fund. Both parties agreed to organize a joint mission with WHO to assess the malaria control implementation context in Mali. Minister Toure also paid a courtesy visit to the staff of the Malian Embassy in Brazzaville, urging them to adhere to the host country’s regulations and be available to assist Malian nationals residing in Congo.
