The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a warning about a listeria outbreak linked to Boar’s Head deli meats. The outbreak has resulted in 9 deaths and over 57 hospitalizations across the US. According to CNN, the CDC has confirmed that the outbreak is the largest listeria outbreak in the US since 2011. The outbreak has been traced back to deli meats produced by Boar’s Head, prompting the company to recall over 3 million pounds of deli meats. The bacteria can cause serious illness, particularly in the elderly, pregnant women, infants, and people with weakened immune systems.
