The Lisbon Stock Exchange ended the last trading day of August on a high note, with the PSI index climbing 0.69%. EDP Renewables led the gains, surging 2.62% to 14.47 euros. Out of the 16 companies listed on the PSI, 11 saw their shares rise, while four declined and one remained unchanged (NOS, at 3.60 euros). Among the decliners, Galp fell 1.19% to 18.76 euros, Ibersol dropped 0.83% to 7.20 euros, Mota-Engil decreased 0.20% to 3.07 euros, and Greenvolt shed 0.06% to 8.30 euros. Among the top gainers, Corticeira Amorim climbed 1.70% to 8.98 euros, and CTT gained 1.36% to 4.47 euros. Supporting the PSI’s rise were BCP, with a 1.14% appreciation to 0.42 euros, and EDP, which rose 1.09% to 3.80 euros. Other companies that closed with gains below 1% included Jerónimo Martins, up 0.78% to 16.76 euros, and Semapa, which progressed 0.56% to 14.44 euros.
