Kullu Villagers Fight to Reopen School, Citing Education Access

Villagers from four villages in Kullu’s Sainj block have met with the Deputy Director of Education, Surender Kumar Sharma, to demand the reopening of the government primary school in Bihalli. They argue that merging the school would force children from two panchayats to travel eight kilometers for education, potentially denying access to education for many children. Representatives from the school management committee, local panchayat, and former panchayat members emphasized that the Bihalli school serves as a central point for three panchayats. They handed a memorandum to the Deputy Director of Education, urging the school’s reopening.
