In the heated US Presidential Election, the issue of racial discrimination remains a hot topic. During a recent interview, Vice President Kamala Harris declined to respond to a question about Republican challenger Donald Trump’s racist remarks regarding her. When asked about Trump’s comments on her ethnicity, Harris dismissed the question, stating that his remarks were ‘the same old, tired story.’ She simply said, ‘Please move on to the next question.’ The question of Harris’s racial identity has been a point of contention for Trump throughout his campaign. Last month, he questioned her racial identity at a National Association of Black Journalists conference, suggesting that she previously identified as South Asian but shifted to identifying as Black for political gain. Harris’s mother, Shyamala Gopalan, was from India, while her father, Donald Harris, was from Jamaica. Despite calls from his allies to focus on policy issues, Trump has continued to personally attack Harris in recent weeks.
