The Portuguese government has appointed José Manuel Cardoso da Costa to chair the Foundation Advisory Council, replacing Artur Santos Silva, Guilherme d’Oliveira Martins, and José Miguel Júdice. Cardoso da Costa is a professor emeritus at the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra and currently chairs the Board of Trustees of the Bissaya Barreto Foundation, the General Council of the Inês de Castro Foundation, and the Ethics Council of the Champalimaud Foundation. Isabel Mota, former president of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, and Carlos Monjardino, president of the Oriente Foundation, are also part of the Council. The Foundation Advisory Council is comprised of five members, with the prime minister appointing three, who are nominated by representative associations of foundations. Representatives from the Ministries of Labor and Finance also serve on the Council.
