However, he admitted he had only read his own role and was told the film depicted a Saudi man rescuing a lost traveler in the desert. He stated that he agreed to the role because it reflected Saudi chivalry and humanity. Upon seeing the film, Najm was surprised to find negative depictions of Saudi characters, which he wouldn’t have accepted had he known the full story. He expressed his deep regret and apologized to the Saudi people for any offense caused.
