Jordan and Egypt have strongly condemned the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza, calling for an immediate ceasefire and emphasizing the need for international action to resolve the conflict. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi and Egypt’s Foreign Minister, Dr. Badr Abdel-Atti, during a phone call, reiterated that ending the Israeli aggression is a priority that requires concerted efforts. The ministers highlighted the importance of a prompt ceasefire as the initial step towards de-escalating the dangerous situation in the region, which risks escalating into a regional war. Safadi reaffirmed Jordan’s support for Egypt’s efforts, along with Qatar and the United States, to achieve a prisoner exchange deal that ensures a permanent ceasefire, guarantees humanitarian access, and facilitates the unimpeded entry of essential humanitarian and medical aid into Gaza to end the humanitarian and health crisis.
