Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren will join the BJP in Ranchi on August 30th, according to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who is also the BJP’s Jharkhand election co-in-charge. Soren’s decision to switch from the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) follows speculation after his recent visit to Delhi with some MLAs on August 18th. Sarma shared a photo of Soren meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah, confirming the move and highlighting Soren’s significant position as a prominent Adivasi leader in India.
