Jerusalem is undergoing a significant urban renewal project with the construction of a new neighborhood called SOHO. Led by Kadmat HaYubal and Africa Urban Renewal, the project involves the demolition of 376 older apartments in five existing buildings in the Gonenim neighborhood. In their place, five 35-story towers will rise, offering approximately 1,000 new housing units. These will include apartments ranging from 2-5 bedrooms, penthouses, and garden apartments. The project will also feature a wide commercial boulevard and public buildings such as daycare centers, kindergartens, a synagogue, a dance studio, and more. A key aspect of the development is the expansion and upgrade of Bar Yohai Street into a two-lane road with a wide sidewalk, improving accessibility for residents. The SOHO project, designed by architect Avner Yeshar, seamlessly blends a modern and innovative architectural style with the urban character of Jerusalem. The project’s prime location near the Green Line of the light rail (under construction), the main transportation artery of the city (Begin Road), the wide Almaliach Park, and Jerusalem’s International Sports City makes it attractive to potential residents.
