The ‘Hanbatang Jeonju Water Park’, a free water play area operated by Jeonju City, proved a resounding success, attracting over 26,000 visitors during its 21-day run. The park, located at the Jeonju World Cup Stadium, provided a much-needed escape from the summer heat, averaging 1,200 visitors per day with a peak of 2,300. The park was operated in two sessions daily, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, to ensure safety and enjoyment. The park featured a variety of attractions, including a structure slide, a wading pool, a water basket, and an aqua challenge zone. To enhance the visitor experience, the park also included three food stalls, 100 Mongolian tents, waiting areas, a children’s pool, and shaded areas. Safety was paramount, with the installation of air conditioning in changing rooms, CCTV monitoring, and dedicated staff for safety and hygiene. The park’s success underscores the need for safe and accessible recreational facilities for citizens, especially during the hot summer months.
