A new Italian restaurant, Terra Mare, is opening in Cardiff this autumn, taking over the space previously occupied by the Libertine cocktail bar on High Street. The restaurant will offer a taste of Puglia, Southern Italy, with a menu inspired by the region’s vibrant flavors and time-honored techniques. Terra Mare, which translates to ‘land and sea,’ will feature 50 indoor covers and an additional 25 on its outdoor terrace. The interior, designed by Studio Severn, will incorporate Mediterranean influences with a touch of luxury. The restaurant is owned and operated by A&M Hospitality Group, the team behind the popular Roath eatery Silures. The menu will be structured around traditional Italian dining, starting with cicchetti (small snacks) and progressing through antipasti, primi piatti, and secondi piatti, ending with dolce. Guests can choose to indulge in a full seven-course experience or simply enjoy a couple of plates. A highlight of the menu will be the freshly made pasta, crafted in-house by Chef Francesco Germinario, whose family hails from Puglia. The wine list will showcase a variety of Italian wines, alongside champagne and prosecco by the glass, and a bespoke cocktail menu curated to complement the dishes.
