A tragic accident occurred in Istanbul’s Küçükçekmece district on Wednesday morning, when two metrobuses collided, resulting in one fatality and at least 38 injuries. According to initial reports, a metrobus traveling towards Beylikdüzü lost control in Sefaköy, veering into the path of an oncoming metrobus. The impact caused the first metrobus to swerve and crash into nearby barriers. Authorities have attributed the accident to road maintenance work being carried out in the area. Following the crash, rescue personnel, including police, firefighters, and paramedics, rushed to the scene. Firefighters extracted two individuals who were trapped beneath the wreckage. The collision caused significant damage to both metrobuses, including shattered windows and damage to the front and interior sections. The accident resulted in the suspension of metrobus services in both directions, leading to lengthy traffic jams and stranded passengers. Two drivers and a supervisor have been taken into custody in connection with the accident.
