Israel’s under-20 volleyball team continues its successful journey at the European Championships. Following victories against reigning European champion Italy and host Greece, they secured a decisive 3-0 (14-25, 20-25, 13-25) win against Scotland on Wednesday. This third consecutive victory, achieved without dropping a single set, propelled the team to the top of their group, bringing them closer to reaching the semi-finals. Head Coach Noam Katz expressed his pride, reflecting on his personal absence during the first two games due to a family emergency: ‘I’m happy to be back with the team. I had to return home before the flight to be with my father in his final moments. I tried to provide guidance from afar, but credit is due to the players and especially the staff for stepping up during this difficult time. They rallied and covered for me during those first two days.’ The team will enjoy a day off on Thursday before their next match against Spain on Friday at 2:30 PM Israel time. The top two teams from each of the eight-team groups will advance to the semi-finals.
