Adam Bardi’evski, the Israeli tennis player, began his Paralympic journey with a hard-fought victory over Italian Luca Arche in the first round. Bardi’evski, who resides in Nir Yitzhak, a kibbutz near the Gaza border, faced a difficult period following a terror attack on his community. He was forced to evacuate with his family, disrupting his training and causing a loss of ranking points that jeopardized his Paralympic qualification. After relocating to Houston for training, Bardi’evski finally secured his spot in the Games. This is Bardi’evski’s third Paralympic appearance. He faced an early deficit in the match, falling behind 15-0. However, he rallied back, winning the first set and eventually securing a 3-1 victory after a thrilling final set that went to a tiebreak.
