A prominent Islamic scholar from Al-Azhar University has denounced the concept of cohabitation, arguing that it is a morally corrupt practice that undermines societal values and contradicts Islamic principles. He asserted that such proposals, often promoted by some artists and self-proclaimed human rights activists, are part of a funded effort to destabilize communities. The scholar emphasized Islam’s strong emphasis on safeguarding women’s dignity in all aspects of life, highlighting the significance of marriage as a contract that guarantees their rights and protects their honor. He stressed that women deserve respect and are not meant to be objects of experimentation, emphasizing the importance of marriage as a sacred bond.
