The Ironman weekend in Vichy kicked off with a vibrant Ironkids race on Saturday, featuring 324 children aged 5 to 13. The ‘lapins’ (12-13 years old) led the charge, completing four laps for a total distance of 1,600 meters. Following suit were the ‘renards’, ‘tortues’, and ‘pandas’, each category tackling a distance suited to their age group. The young triathletes crossed the finish line with a joyous burst of bubbles and fireworks, inspiring the 2,000 athletes set to compete in the Ironman Vichy 70.3 on Sunday morning.
