Portuguese authorities arrested a 48-year-old foreign national in the Algarve region on Friday. The man, who was wanted by Moroccan authorities on international arrest warrants, is suspected of being part of an international drug trafficking ring operating between Germany, France, and Spain, with Morocco as the final destination. The network allegedly operated under the guise of an automobile export company, transporting vehicles from Germany to Morocco through Spain. Authorities discovered 100,115 ecstasy pills hidden within one of the vehicles during a routine inspection. The suspect could face up to 10 years in prison for his alleged role in the drug trafficking operation. He was detained pending extradition proceedings.
