The Anti-Narcotics Cell in Sirsa, India, has apprehended two individuals and confiscated approximately 2.5 kilograms of opium, valued at 5 lakh rupees. The arrests were made in separate incidents in the city of Sirsa and the nearby Ding area. Police have filed charges against the suspects under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and initiated investigations. According to Sirsa Superintendent of Police Vikrant Bhushan, the apprehended individuals were identified as Rakesh Kumar, residing in Namdarganj, Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, and Shailesh Kumar, residing in Chaya, Chatra, Jharkhand. During a routine patrol, officers spotted a young man attempting to flee, leading to the discovery of 1.5 kilograms of opium in his possession. In a separate operation, another individual was apprehended in the Multani Colony area, yielding one kilogram of opium. These arrests highlight ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat the illegal drug trade in India.
