Indian cricketers Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, and Dhawal Kulkarni brought smiles to the faces of young cancer patients during a heartwarming visit to the free pediatric oncology ward at Sri Ramakrishna Hospital in Coimbatore. The players, in town for the Buchi Babu Invitational Tournament, took time out to interact with the children, signing mini cricket bats, gifting fruits and cookies, and inquiring about their hobbies and favorite players. In return, the young patients presented Yadav and Iyer with portraits of themselves as tokens of appreciation. The cricketers also expressed their wishes for a speedy recovery to the children undergoing treatment. Yadav engaged in a detailed discussion with Dr. P. Guhan, Director of Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Oncology and Research (SRIOR), about the ward’s treatment protocols and the remarkable feat of providing free cancer treatment to over 1,000 children since its inauguration in 2005. Yadav commended the hospital’s dedication to pediatric cancer treatment, highlighting the significant support provided by Sri Ramakrishna Hospital to this noble cause.
