The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, has requested the Indian Railway Minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw, to introduce a Vande Bharat sleeper train connecting Delhi to Ujjain. This demand was made during a meeting in Delhi, with CM Yadav highlighting the importance of facilitating pilgrimages to Ujjain, known as the city of Mahakal, for devotees from the capital city. The proposed sleeper train aims to offer a comfortable and convenient overnight journey for pilgrims, allowing them to reach Ujjain without facing travel disruptions. The demand comes ahead of the Singhस्थ festival, scheduled to take place in Ujjain in 2028, which is expected to draw a significant influx of pilgrims. The Railway Minister assured the Chief Minister that his request would be given due consideration, signaling a potential boost for religious tourism in Madhya Pradesh.
