The Indian government has announced plans to establish 12 new industrial cities across 10 states, mirroring the successful models of Greater Noida and Dholera. This ambitious project, estimated to cost Rs 28,602 crore, will catalyze domestic manufacturing and create a significant number of jobs. These industrial zones, strategically located across India, will encompass a range of sectors, including automobiles, electronics, pharmaceuticals, and textiles, attracting both domestic and international investors. The project aims to create ‘plug and play’ industrial parks with world-class infrastructure, providing seamless connectivity and supporting sustainable development. The initiative is expected to generate a million direct jobs and up to three million indirect jobs, positioning India as a key player in global value chains.
