A tragic accident occurred in Arur, Kerala, where a 59-year-old housewife, Mallika, was killed instantly after being hit by a private bus. The incident took place at the Arur temple junction on the national highway. Mallika, a resident of Archanabhavan, Ezhuppunnai panchayat, was crossing the road when she was struck by a private bus traveling towards Vaital. The impact of the collision was so severe that the bus’s wheels ran over her body, causing immediate death. The incident occurred despite the presence of construction company marshals on duty due to the ongoing elevated highway construction. The police and fire department arrived at the scene and transported the body to the Arrookutti Government Hospital mortuary. The accident caused traffic disruptions on the national highway for a short period.
