Housewife Found Dead in Bangladesh, Husband and Mother-in-Law Detained

Police in Bangladesh have detained a husband and his mother-in-law after a young housewife was found dead in her in-law’s house. Smriti Sarkar, 20, was found dead in her home in the Harirampur upazila of Manikganj district on Thursday night. Her family alleges murder, citing frequent arguments between Smriti and her husband, Sanjit Saha, over family matters. The couple had reportedly been married for three years and had two children together. Police recovered Smriti’s body from under her bed, noting a nose injury. A police investigation is underway, and legal action will be taken against the suspects.
