Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) has announced plans to construct approximately 6,000 social housing units by April 30, 2025. The city government is committed to addressing housing challenges for low-income residents and will expedite the necessary approvals for these projects. This initiative is part of HCMC’s broader strategy to develop 69,700 to 93,000 social housing units by 2030. The city has already built 2.700 units and is currently working on 3,000 more. The city government emphasizes the importance of integrating social housing with technical and social infrastructure to create a better quality of life for residents and attract labor to HCMC.
