A new high-speed railway line connecting Sichuan and Qinghai provinces in China is set to open soon, bringing high-speed rail to the scenic Jiuzaigou region. This 69-kilometer stretch of track, known as the Zhenjiangguan-Huangshengguan section of the Sichuan-Qinghai railway, features an impressive 95% tunnel coverage, traversing challenging mountainous terrain. The new line will cut travel time from Chengdu to Jiuzaigou to just three hours, boosting tourism and economic development in the region. The railway project overcame numerous engineering challenges, including construction through active fault zones and the creation of the longest single-bore, double-track tunnel in Asia. With its focus on safety and technological innovation, the new railway line is poised to become a vital transportation artery for the region.
