Aviv Gefen, a popular Israeli singer, performed at a festival in Petah Tikva last night. The event, attended by over 10,000 people, took an unexpected turn when police discovered that some of the cleaning workers were undocumented immigrants. Police apprehended 17 undocumented workers during a routine security check. The incident highlights the ongoing issue of illegal immigration in Israel, where authorities routinely detain individuals who have entered the country without proper authorization. During the event, a police officer requested to inspect the identification of a cleaning worker, revealing that the individual was an illegal resident. This prompted a wider investigation, leading to the arrest of 12 more undocumented workers, including a minor. Two individuals, believed to be the employers of the undocumented workers, were also arrested and are currently being investigated.
