Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini has put an end to speculation about his election plans, confirming that he will contest the upcoming state assembly elections from the Karnal constituency. Saini won the Karnal seat in a by-election held concurrently with the Lok Sabha elections, after former Chief Minister Manohar Lal vacated the seat to become a Member of Parliament. Saini’s decision comes amidst rumors that he might contest from Ladwa, fueled by statements from BJP state president Mohanlal Badouli, who suggested he could potentially contest from the same constituency. However, Saini clarified that he will stay true to his existing constituency. The BJP’s first list of candidates for the Haryana elections is expected to be released soon. Voting in the Haryana Assembly elections will take place on October 1st, coinciding with the third phase of the Jammu and Kashmir elections. Results for all 90 seats will be declared on October 4th.
