The ‘2024 Gyeonggi Traditional Liquor Grand Prix’ will be held at Goyang KINTEX from August 31st to September 1st. This event aims to promote awareness of traditional Korean liquor and stimulate consumption of Gyeonggi rice, a key ingredient in these beverages. Organized by the Gyeonggi Provincial Agricultural and Fisheries Products Promotion Agency, the event will bring together 50 participants, including local brewers and food companies. The highlight is the Gyeonggi Traditional Liquor Competition, where brewers will compete in categories like makgeolli (unfiltered rice wine), yakju (medicinal rice wine), and jeongju (filtered rice wine). Awards will be given to the top three entries in each category. In addition to the competition, visitors can enjoy various programs such as a traditional rice wine tasting session, makgeolli making workshops, and a Gyeonggi traditional liquor sommelier experience. Admission is 5,000 won and includes a 500g bag of Gyeonggi rice and a taste of traditional liquor.
