Gyeonggi Province Steps in to Support Ajou University Hospital Amidst ER Staff Shortage

Gyeonggi Province, located in South Korea, has committed 10 billion won in financial aid to Ajou University Hospital to address a critical staffing shortage in its emergency room. The hospital has been struggling to retain emergency room physicians, with a significant number leaving due to various factors, including work-related stress and pressure. The situation has become dire as the hospital sees a significant volume of emergency patients, with over 72,000 patients visiting annually. The governor of Gyeonggi Province, Kim Dong-yeon, personally visited Ajou University Hospital to convey the support and pledged further assistance beyond financial aid.
